About me and my practice
My name is Dean Rodrigues and I am a very experienced, conscientious, caring and adaptable Addictions and CBT therapist with an extensive knowledge and the ability to offer advice, support, rehabilitation and guidance to individuals who have or are currently experiencing addiction. I have a proven ability to empathise with individuals whilst retaining an objective and realistic approach to their treatment and therapy. Maintaining a non-judgmental, non-bias attitude, following through good practise using my knowledge of policy and procedure to ensure ethics are highly regarded. Comfortable working and communicating with people from all backgrounds and have expertise working with individuals, families or groups. I am committed to my own ongoing development and learning as well as constantly looking for ways to improve and enhance my practice. I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling CBT (level 7) from the University College of Wales Newport 2011

My Responsibilities include, Conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations of clients addiction issues Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions and counseling services Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care Monitoring and documenting clients progress and treatment outcomes Offering education and support to clients families and significant others Maintaining accurate and confidential client records

2003 – present Counsellor Welsh Centre for Action on Dependency and Addiction (now Adferiad Recovery) Swansea
BABCP Member Private Practice delivering evidence based therapeutic interventions to individuals with a wide range of issues including addiction Facilitating structured group therapy sessions, based on various models of treatment
Redesigning and implementing my employers treatment model to achieve significant improvements and cost efficiency
Managing caseloads and delivering sessions tailored to individual needs working within groups
Establishing trust and positive relationships, empathising and empowering the individual to ensure their treatment is tailored to their specific needs
Working with families and peers of those who suffer from addiction, to support, monitor and identify problems that can be rectified
