About me and my practice
Working with all types of compulsive behaviours and addictive traits. This includes specialising in the areas around sexualised substance use and conjoined psychosexual behaviours, including compulsive use of pornography. I have experience of group facilitation in addition to focusing on 1:1 sessions. I believe in offering practical advice and a solution focused approach to address the presenting unwanted behaviours, whilst exploring underlying trauma, negative experiences, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression. I have experience of working with people who are managing other mental health (and physical health) issues, and have extensive knowledge of working with those from diverse backgrounds - particularly from the LGBTQ community
Outline of offer
In addition to an in-person private practice in London, recently many of my private Clients prefer to engage via Zoom sessions - which also opens up the offer of support nationally and internationally. I prefer to work in short blocks of sessions to give plenty of focus on reviewing progress. I find it can be particularly helpful to work alongside other therapeutic approaches and embrace anything that a Client might find helpful (including experience of 12-Step Fellowship, complementary therapy, CBT, DBT, mindfulness and so forth) I would am always happy to assess anyone interested in making changes, and to explore if I am the right therapist for you.
