Psychotherapy for Substance and Behavioural Addictions

About me and my practice

My work is grounded in the learning model of addiction. I don't see addiction as a disease or a moral failure. I see it as learned behaviour, which means it can be unlearned. My approach is integrative, drawing on CBT, harm reduction, and contemporary neuroscience, with radical responsibility underpinning my approach.

Outline of offer

I specialise exclusively in addiction, including Class A drug use, alcohol, prescription medication, and behavioural addictions such as gambling, gaming, and compulsive sexual behaviour. I also work with families and loved ones affected by it.
I work with people in active use. You don't have to have stopped, or even be ready to stop, to start understanding what's happening and what needs to change. I don't require abstinence and I don't set your goals — for some clients that's abstinence, for others it's moderation.

Sessions are online via Zoom, adults only, UK-wide.

Experience

I hold an MSc in Psychology, an Integrative Diploma in Counselling and a PGCert in Addiction Medicine. I bring twenty years of personal experience with Class A drugs alongside my clinical training. Full details of my additional qualifications, experience and fees can be found on my website.
