About me and my practice
I am a freelance practitioner with more than 20 years experience in the field Substance Misuse and Social Welfare.
Since 2001, I have worked in various roles both as a Service Manager and as a Practitioner offering Psychosocial interventions in a range of settings including the NHS and HM Prison Service as well as for community based charitable organisations.
In 2007 I led a new initiative in association with the local Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership to review and implement new substance misuse service provision within the Cotswolds.
As part of my career, I have worked within multi-disciplinary teams supporting concerned others and individuals to address their substance use, from the point of initial assessment through to aftercare. Through my experience and qualifications, I have developed an ever increasing appreciation for underlying issues to substance misuse and experience of working with past trauma, abuse, mental health, learning disabilities and eating disorders. Throughout all of my roles I have utilised various techniques to support and empower my clients including but not limited to; Cognitive Behavioural Approaches, Person Centred Planning & Facilitation, Emotional Freedom Technique, Qi-Gong and Mindfulness.
Outline of offer
I offer a range of services to individuals, concerned others, companies and organisations, including:
- 1:1 Support to adults concerned about their own or someone else’s substance use.
- Practical workshop sessions for organisations to explore substance use related issues and sensitive situations that may arise in the work place and options of how to manage them.
- 1:1 Support for adults overcoming binge eating disorder
