About me and my practice

I am a dedicated and patient-focused healthcare professional with 30 years’ experience in Addiction Programme Development and Management, Counselling and Therapy for a broad base of Issues. I have practiced both in the UK and Southern Ireland as both a Therapist and a Nurse. Currently I work in private practice with Individuals, Couples, Families and Groups. I facilitate a weekly group for families/friends of addicts and deal with their issues of Co-dependence. I work eclectically and believe that using many different approaches such as Person-Centered, CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Reality Therapy to name but a few, enables me to adapt my approach to each client’s needs.

Outline of offer

I work with Individuals, Couples, Families and Groups either in person or online.

Experience

I have worked in Addictions for many years but have a wealth of both Nursing and Counselling experience in many different fields which includes Learning Disabilities, Terminal Care, Spinal Injuries, Brain Injuries, Bereavement and Grief, and Care of the Elderly. I am fortunate to have had varied first hand experience as a nurse as this has definitely informed my practice as a therapist and my ability to work confidently with so many different issues.
