About me and my practice

I am an accredited counsellor specializing in addiction therapy and work with substance abuse (alcohol, cocaine etc) and process addictions such as pornography, gambling and social media. I have lived experience of recovery from addiction personally and have seen addictions in my family and previous work life-I used to work in the catering industry where drug abuse is rife. I was trained as a humanistic counsellor and work holistically with the mental. physical, emotional and spiritual self as well as looking at addiction as a public health problem with a social context. I have further training in CBT, motivational interviewing and mindfulness, all techniques that have evidence for helping addicts recover.

Outline of offer

I offer online therapy sessions via Zoom, giving you considerable flexibility about where and when you might want therapy and have a three tier pricing system according to a person's circumstances. This is between £40 and £60 a session, I offer a 5% discount if 4 sessions are booked up front, I realise that the cost of living crisis is preventing many people from reaching out for help when they need it and hope to do my best to make therapy as affordable as I can. I also offer courses that provide weekly worksheets helping you understand addictions and guiding you through recovery, priced at £15 a time. This may help if you cannot afford or do not feel ready for personal one to one therapy.

Experience

I have more than 10 years of experience as a therapist, in private practice and also for Gamcare (through Stephen James counselling), and the Priory Hospital in Glasgow .
