Addiction recovery support, relapse prevention planning and support for families of addictsAbout me and my practice
I am a qualified relational counsellor working in private practice. I practise as an integrative counsellor, drawing upon a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), person-centred, and psychodynamic modalities. This integrative approach enables me to tailor therapy to the individual needs of each client. I am also an accredited member of NCPS.
Outline of offer
I work with adults presenting with a range of mental health difficulties, including addiction, depression, generalised anxiety disorder, stress-related difficulties, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), relationship issues, loss and change, anger management and emotional regulation.Experience
I have experience working as a counsellor within an addiction recovery service, supporting clients to work towards recovery goals and addressing associated and non-addiction-related trauma. Addiction is therefore a key area of my practice. Alongside therapeutic intervention, I consider it important to support clients in developing an understanding of the psychological and physiological processes underlying addiction, in order to reduce experiences of guilt and shame and to support sustainable recovery.
