Online Addiction Recovery Counselling and PsychotherapyAbout me and my practice
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist offering a compassionate, non-judgemental space for individuals navigating addiction, recovery, and related challenges. I believe therapy is most effective when grounded in both professional expertise and genuine human connection. My approach is relational and collaborative, supporting clients to explore their experiences at their own pace while building self-awareness, resilience, and self-compassion. My work is informed not only by clinical training but also by a deep appreciation for creativity and self-expression. With a background in music and group facilitation, I recognise the value of creative approaches in supporting emotional processing and healing. I aim to meet each client as a whole person, understanding that addiction often intersects with identity, relationships, and life experiences. Where appropriate, I may draw sensitively on lived experience to foster connection and reduce feelings of isolation. I understand how difficult it can be to feel stuck or disconnected, and I offer a supportive space where clients can begin to make sense of their experiences. My practice is inclusive, accessible, and grounded in respect, offering clients the opportunity to reconnect with themselves and move towards meaningful change.Outline of offer
I offer one-to-one integrative counselling and psychotherapy for individuals experiencing challenges related to addiction, recovery, and emotional wellbeing. Sessions are held online via Zoom, providing a consistent and accessible space for therapeutic work. Each session lasts 50 minutes and is priced at £70. I also offer a block booking option of £500 for 8 sessions, providing a £60 saving for those able to commit in advance. Payment is arranged prior to sessions, and block bookings are encouraged to support continuity and engagement in the therapeutic process. I work on a weekly basis, as regular contact creates the most effective conditions for progress and deeper therapeutic exploration. Sessions can be held at a consistent, agreed time each week, or with some flexibility depending on individual needs. I do not offer alternate-week sessions, as this can disrupt the flow of the work. I operate a 48-hour cancellation policy. Sessions cancelled with more than 48 hours’ notice will not be charged, while cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled time are charged in full. I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation to discuss your needs and explore whether working together feels like the right fit.Experience
I bring a diverse range of professional experience to my work as a counsellor and psychotherapist. I have supported individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, working within community settings and alongside NHS referrals. This has given me valuable insight into the complexities of addiction, as well as the challenges and strengths involved in recovery. Earlier in my career, I worked as an Assistant Psychologist in both inpatient and community-based brain injury services. This role developed my understanding of neurological, cognitive, and emotional processes, as well as the importance of adapting therapeutic approaches to meet individual needs. I have also led projects within the learning disability sector, supporting individuals with additional needs in a range of settings. In addition to clinical work, I have extensive experience as a music teacher and group facilitator. This has shaped my ability to work creatively and relationally, and to support individuals in expressing themselves in ways that feel safe and meaningful. My combined experience allows me to work holistically, recognising the interplay between mental health, physical wellbeing, and life circumstances in supporting sustainable recovery. The main objective of the Practitioner Directory is to protect the public and help them find practitioners they can trust.
