SSJ&I - Southampton Drug and Alcohol ServicesAbout me and my practice
I am a dual-registered Adult and Mental Health Nurse with a specialist interest in addiction, trauma-informed care and integrated physical and mental healthcare. I believe recovery is unique to every individual and is built through trust, compassion, collaboration and hope. My approach is holistic and person-centred, recognising that sustainable recovery involves addressing physical health, mental wellbeing, relationships, social circumstances and personal strengths. I am committed to evidence-based practice, reflective learning and empowering people to achieve meaningful, lasting recovery.Outline of offer
I provide specialist nursing support for adults affected by alcohol and drug use, with a focus on comprehensive assessment, recovery planning, harm reduction, physical and mental health, and collaborative care. I work alongside individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams to promote wellbeing, improve health outcomes and support people in achieving their personal recovery goals. My practice is informed by trauma-informed principles, motivational interviewing and psychologically informed approaches.Experience
I have worked in specialist addiction services since July 2025, initially with Change Grow Live and, following the TUPE transfer of services, with Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (Inclusion). Prior to specialising in addiction, I worked as a dual-registered Adult and Mental Health Nurse within a Regional Major Trauma Centre, developing expertise in acute care, crisis intervention and holistic assessment. Alongside my clinical practice, I have established a Reflective Practice Programme for nursing colleagues, undertaken Link Nurse roles in co-occurring conditions and sexual health, contributed to research with the University of Southampton and continue to develop my leadership through ongoing professional education and CPD.The main objective of the Practitioner Directory is to protect the public and help them find practitioners they can trust.
