Outline of offer
I have specialist expertise in non-medical prescribing and the treatment of people affected by drug and alcohol use. My clinical background includes assessment, formulation and evidence-based prescribing for OST (initiation, maintenance and deprescribing) and alcohol detoxification pathways. I have worked with people with complex and co-occurring needs, using trauma-informed, harm-reduction-focused approaches to support stabilisation, safety and recovery. I currently provide consultancy, supervision and service development support to organisations seeking to strengthen addiction pathways, governance and workforce capability. My aim is to improve access, reduce stigma and promote safe, effective treatment across the services I support.
Experience
I have over 30 years’ experience working across addiction, mental health and learning‑disability services in both community and secure environments. My career has included senior clinical roles in drug and alcohol services, prison healthcare and specialist treatment pathways, where I have led on assessment, formulation and evidence‑based prescribing for people with complex and co‑occurring needs. As a Non‑Medical Prescriber, I have extensive experience in OST initiation, maintenance and deprescribing, as well as alcohol detoxification planning. I have worked with individuals presenting with significant risk, trauma histories and dual‑diagnosis needs, ensuring safe, person‑centred and trauma‑informed care. Alongside clinical practice, I have contributed to national workforce and service‑development programmes, including roles with NHS England and Health Education England. I also work as a Clinical Adviser within CETR teams, supporting safe care for people with complex needs. My consultancy work focuses on improving addiction pathways, clinical governance and workforce capability.The main objective of the Practitioner Directory is to protect the public and help them find practitioners they can trust.
